Cross-country skiers will be enthusiastic about the facilities of the DSV Nordic Active Centre Girkhausen! Its high altitude ensures good snow conditions most of the time. Both the ski cabin "Auf der Steinert" as well as the parking lot "Albrechtsplatz" at the crossroads B480/B236 are good starting points for cross-country skiing. The broad trails offer perfect conditions for classic as well as free-technique skiers. They also provide direct access to the Rothaar-trail. An inn for refreshment stops and a ski rental can be found in the ski cabin located directly at the trail (Opening hours: Wed-Sun; 11am-6pm).
The skiing season in our area begins on the 15.12.2011 and ends, according to weather conditions, on the 15.03.2012.
